See you tomorrow night!

Just a reminder that Curriculum Night is tomorrow from 6:30 - 8. There is an invitation in your child's home folder! Hope to see you!

Today we started reviewing/learning about the Scientific Method. We had art today and need to remember to bring paper grocery bags in to keep our work we complete during the year. IF you have extra paper grocery bags at home, can you please send them in for kids who don't have them? Thanks a bunch!

If your child signed up for the band and orchestra preview program, it begins tomorrow at 7:50a.m. It is tomorrow and the next 2 Thursdays at 7:50a.m.

Homework:
Spelling (3 activities)
Math: Link 1.3 (all on the bottom and one of the rows on the top - doing it all is not necessary)

Homework

Ok, so this is our first homework posting for the year! Hopefully, parents, you received my explanation of MY 5th grade spelling work and options. I will answer all questions at Curriculum Night Thursday (or you can email me). The kids will get it as the weeks go on, but rest assured that this plan will motivate them to do their best. Today alone, all but 5 are on the alternate list.

Today, we were introduced to an option ONLY OPEN TO 5th graders: Band and Orchestra! Let the advantages and priviliges begin!! Mr. Cappert and Mr. Ruhs introduced us to all the instruments available to the 5th graders. THe "prelude" program begins THIS THURSDAY at 7:50 a.m. Your child has a green sheet in their folder (they SHOULD!!)that you need to read, sign, and return tomorrow giving them permission to take part in this activity. THis is a time for them to try out ALL the instruments before making a decision. They can hold them, play them, talk about them, see some great videos, and then, with the help of the instructors, they can decide what (if anything) is right for them! Awesome!

HOMEWORK for 8-24
Math (5th) - Study Link 1.2
Writing - Bring things to decorate your writing folder (stickers, pictures, stencils, etc.)
"Me" bag (if you haven't shared yet)
Spelling - 3 activities (any 3 from the contract sheet or created by student) due on Friday.

I look forward to seeing you again (or meeting you for the first time) on Thursday night!

Welcome to 5G!!

Hi everyone!
I am so excited to have you as part of our learning community. You are looking at this blog because you are part of our classroom community! You might be a student or a parent. You might be a grandparent, a friend, an aunt, or a neighbor. You are, in some way, an influence on what we are doing in our classroom. It is an important job, so please let me know if there is any information you might need (on this blog or another form of communication) in order to be an effective part of our class! There will be a lot of information shared within the next couple weeks, so check in often! Thank you for your support and I look forward to an amazingly fun year!
