New Novels

Tomorrow will be the first Good Fortune Friday for the One Book/One School program!  I hope you are all taking part in keeping up with this reading so you can participate with the activities.  Remember that it is a voluntary program, but you can use the reading you do with your family to meet your goal pages each night!  I hope you are enjoying it!

Tomorrow, we will begin our novel study for Snow Treasure.  This is a novel based on what was happening in Norway during the early part of World War II.  Today, we covered some background information about this war (some people, places, and reasons for the war).  WHile today's lesson was based around a great deal of HISTORY, you will soon see that there this novel has a lot to offer.  There is adventure, mystery, and LOTS OF SNOW!!!!

Homework:
Math
My class has a packet of study links - only evens are assigned, but you may do any odd problems if you need extra practice on a concept.  We have a quiz tomorrow and our part 1 test of the unit will be next Friday.  I hope you remembered to bring your notebook home so you can compare fractions using the different ways I showed you.  You can always search online for "how to compare fractions."

The other two classes have homework as well.

Social Studies
Test over chapter 7 tomorrow.  You may use your notes, but as we learned today, our notes are only helpful if we are thoughtful when writing them.  IF you write too much, you won't find what you are looking for.  If you write too little, you may not have the resource to find the answer.  Either way, what is most important is that you read the chapter and review it well (the end of chapter review would be a good thing to help you).  Also, remember your crossword is due tomorrow.

Word study - Study those 7 vocabulary words that you created flashcards for.  Look under language links for the link to the Quizlet site!

As a reminder - there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.!!
